Short answer. Hims’ pages list tirzepatide at “From $299/mo” with “Membership required.” The membership is “$39” at checkout for the first month; “After that, your membership auto-renews at $149 per month (medication cost not included).” Medication is “billed separately” under a Medication Plan that also auto-renews. To avoid a charge you must cancel “at least two (2) days before your next billing date.” “Your first month Membership fee is non-refundable,” and a medication refund is available “only if” you cancel “within 48 hours of submitting your payment information” on a first order. Seven pharmacies are named. The pages do not say whether the $299 tirzepatide is compounded or brand-name.

Hims & Hers is the largest brand in this category, and its weight-loss pricing has two layers: a monthly membership and a separate medication plan, each with its own renewal and its own cancellation clock. The product pages publish the headline numbers; the terms, last updated August 31, 2026, publish the rules. This article puts those sentences next to the marketing.
Disclosure first: I founded SkinnyVIP, a compounded tirzepatide program with different terms, and I compare them at the end. Everything attributed to Hims & Hers below is quoted from its own published pages on October 19, 2026, with links, and the quotes are chosen to answer the questions patients actually ask: when is money refundable, what renews, and how do you stop it. Nothing here is a judgment of Hims & Hers' clinical care, which I have no way to assess.
What the product pages say
“From $299/mo” — Hims, weight-loss page (Tirzepatide), read October 19, 2026
“Membership required” — Hims, weight-loss page
“You’ll pay a $39 membership fee at checkout for your first month.” — Hims, weight-loss page
“After that, your membership auto-renews at $149 per month (medication cost not included).” — Hims, weight-loss page
“If prescribed, your medication is billed separately (monthly or upfront, based on your plan), and the price of the medication depends on your prescribed treatment, if eligible.” — Hims, weight-loss page
“Dosage and titration vary based on provider discretion. Pricing may vary by dosage.” — Hims, weight-loss page
“The medication fee is FSA/HSA eligible, but the Hims & Hers Weight Loss Membership fee is NOT FSA/HSA eligible.” — Hims, weight-loss page
“GLP-1s are not yet available in all 50 states.” — Hims, weight-loss page
So the ongoing monthly cost is the membership plus the medication: $149 plus “from $299” for tirzepatide, with the page noting that “pricing may vary by dosage.” The first month of membership is discounted to $39. The pages we read do not say whether the $299 tirzepatide is a compounded product or a brand-name one, so ask before paying.
What the terms say about renewal
“You are required to purchase the Weight Loss Membership on an automatically renewing subscription basis.” — Hims & Hers, Terms and Conditions, last updated August 31, 2026
“If you purchase prescription products through a Medication Plan, you understand and acknowledge that you are purchasing an automatically-renewing Medication Plan subscription for the recurring intervals and amounts identified to you at check-out.” — Hims & Hers, Terms and Conditions
“Your first Weight Loss Membership and Medication Plan renewal may be charged early to prevent any discontinuity in treatment.” — Hims & Hers, Terms and Conditions
“Cancelling your Medication Plan does not automatically cancel your Weight Loss Membership, which will continue to renew at the applicable billing cadence until you cancel.” — Hims & Hers, Terms and Conditions
“We will provide you with advance notice of pricing changes prior to your renewal processing date.” — Hims & Hers, Terms and Conditions
Two subscriptions, two renewals. Stopping the medication plan leaves the $149 membership running; the terms say so directly. The first renewal “may be charged early,” and later charges may run up to two days early, which matters for the cancellation deadline below.
How to stop, and when it’s too late
“You can view your renewal date and cancel your Weight Loss Membership and your Medication Plan, or just your Medication Plan, in-app or through your online account under “My Subscriptions”, by contacting the Customer Help Center at [email protected], or by calling 1-800-368-0038.” — Hims & Hers, Terms and Conditions
“Your Weight Loss Membership will automatically renew at the applicable billing cadence unless you cancel at least two (2) days before your next billing date.” — Hims & Hers, Terms and Conditions
“For the avoidance of doubt, the two (2)-day cancellation deadlines described in this section are calculated based on your originally scheduled billing date, regardless of whether your Weight Loss Membership or Medication Plan charge or shipment occurs early as permitted under this Agreement.” — Hims & Hers, Terms and Conditions
“If you have been pre-shipped medication for a pre-paid multi-month Medication Plan, cancellation must occur at least two (2) days before your next billing date and will not take effect until the end of your medication supply period.” — Hims & Hers, Terms and Conditions
“Cancellation will take effect at the end of the current billing period.” — Hims & Hers, Terms and Conditions
The deadline is two days before the originally scheduled billing date, even if the charge itself lands early. On a prepaid multi-month plan that has already shipped, cancellation waits until the supply period ends. Cancel both the membership and the medication plan if you mean to leave entirely; cancelling one does not cancel the other.
Refunds
“Your first month Membership fee is non-refundable.” — Hims & Hers, Terms and Conditions
“You will receive a refund for your Medication Plan only if (1) for an initial order, you cancel your Medication Plan within 48 hours of submitting your payment information; or (2) for subscription renewals, you cancel your Medication Plan two (2) days before your next billing renewal date.” — Hims & Hers, Terms and Conditions
“You will not be eligible for a refund for any medication after it has been shipped.” — Hims & Hers, Terms and Conditions
“Refunds for partially used Weight Loss Membership or Medication Plan periods are not guaranteed and may be provided in our sole and absolute discretion.” — Hims & Hers, Terms and Conditions
The medication refund window on a first order is 48 hours from entering payment details. After shipment there is no refund, and the first month of membership is never refunded. The pages we read do not state in plain terms what happens to a medication charge if a clinician does not prescribe; the product page says only “Prescription required.” Ask that in writing before paying.
The pharmacies
“Our Service provides access to prescription fulfillment services offered by the following pharmacies: Apostrophe Pharmacy LLC, XeCare LLC, EHT Pharmacy LLC dba Curexa, CD Pharmacy LLC, a Utah limited liability company d/b/a Red Rock Pharmacy, AnazaoHealth Corporation, and Strive Specialties, Inc. and its affiliates (the “Pharmacies”)” — Hims & Hers, Terms and Conditions
“If you fill a weight loss prescription with a pharmacy other than the Pharmacies (including, for example, through Gifthealth®, Inc. (“Gifthealth”)), the Service will send the prescription to your selected pharmacy, but you will be responsible for picking up or otherwise obtaining the prescription product and paying the pharmacy directly for the cost of the prescription product.” — Hims & Hers, Terms and Conditions
Hims names seven pharmacies in its terms. Which one fills your prescription, and what it is dispensing, are questions for the care team.

Before you switch any program: four things to confirm
- Where the refund cutoff sits. "Routed to the pharmacy," "dispensed," and "shipped" are three different moments, sometimes days apart. Know which one your program uses.
- Whether the next charge is already scheduled. If a plan renews, find the renewal date and the cancellation deadline in writing before you do anything else.
- What a cancellation actually costs. A notice period, a re-rating of discounted months, or a non-refundable consultation fee can all apply. Read the sentence that says so.
- What continuity looks like. Ask any new program how quickly a licensed clinician reviews your intake and when the first shipment arrives, so there is no gap in doses.
